Vic: Cars destroyed in $120,000 fire

MELBOURNE, April 9 AAP - Two cars were destroyed in a garage fire estimated to have caused
$120,000 damage in Melbourne's east this morning, a metropolitan fire brigade spokesman said.

About 25 firefighters were called to the fire at a Vista Crescent, Rowville residence
around 12.30am and found a garage housing a Eunos car and a Pajero four-wheel drive alight.

MFB spokesman John Taylor said that the fire destroyed the vehicles and extensively damaged
the garage causing an estimated $120,000 damage.

"That's quite extensive for a garage," Mr Taylor said.

The fire was controlled in 15 minutes and did not damage the nearby residence.

Fire investigators were at the scene.
